High School students in Devils Lake are doing something about what they say is a tanning problem among students. Students handed out information on the dangers of tanning beds at Devils Lake High School today.

Excessive tanning can cause skin cancer, wrinkles and spots to form on the skin. Students say tanning is even more dangerous for people with naturally pale skin. They are concerned that too many students are trying to get rid of their paleness in a dangerous way. Students say the effects of tanning are also worse for young people. They say people younger than 30 increase their risk for skin cancer by 75 percent when they use tanning beds.
