East Grand Forks has been given an extra month by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to submit a plan for upgrading its sewage treatment facility.

The earlier deadline was February 22nd but after city officials requested more time to get new council members up to speed on the issue, the new deadline was reset for March 26th. The city has honed in on two options -- interconnecting with Grand Forks or reconstructing the current leaking lagoons. Both projects range from $13-15 million.
