Devils Lake Prepares for "Shiverfest" this Weekend

Organizers in Devils Lake say mother nature is cooperating for this year's annual Shiverfest celebration. The weather is expected to be perfect after conditions got a little sloppy last year.

Some events had to be cancelled last year, but this year will be busy on the Devils Lake ice.

Events include a youth ice fishing tournament, pond hockey tournament, sleigh rides, ice golfing and kite flying and more. There are also activities for those hoping to avoid the elements, like a motorcycle show. All the added activity is expected to boost business in the area for the weekend as well. Organizers say Shiverfest is one of the rare times that winter recreation on Devils Lake is targeted towards kids instead of adults.
