TRAVEL ALERT ISSUED FOR SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTH EAST NORTH DAKOTA

Travel Alert issued for south central and south east regions of North Dakota.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and ND Highway Patrol has issued a Travel Alert for the south central and south east regions of North Dakota. The Travel Alert area includes Interstate 94 from Jamestown to Fargo and all highways from I-94 to the South Dakota border. The Travel Alert area includes the cities of Jamestown, Valley City, West Fargo, Fargo, LaMoure, Lisbon, Wahpeton and the surrounding areas due to blowing and drifting snow reducing visibility.

State highways included in the Travel Alert are:

· Interstate 94

· Interstate 29

· US Highway 281

· ND Highway 1

· ND Highway 32

Travel Alerts - are issued to alert motorists that areas of challenging winter weather driving conditions may be encountered. Conditions are such that motorists can still travel; however, they should be aware that rapidly changing conditions may result in travel delays due to reduced speeds and visibility.

All travelers are encouraged to monitor road conditions, reduce traffic speeds as weather conditions occur and use caution while traveling. For road information, call 511 from any type of phone or go to the website: www.dot.nd.gov. Please be advised that information on 511 and the travel map is updated daily from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m. CST. The road report is based upon the information available to the NDDOT at the time of preparation and is provided solely as a public service. Conditions may vary from those reported.
