Storm Cleanup Continues

After plows were pulled from the roads yesterday, high winds are making snow removal even more difficult for crews in both Grand Forks and East Grand Forks.

After plows were pulled from the roads yesterday, high winds are making snow removal even more difficult for crews in both Grand Forks and East Grand Forks.

Crews started early this morning to finish the job. In Grand Forks there are more than 30 people working to get streets cleaned up and in East Grand Forks nearly ten people have been working since 2 a.m. Snow plow operators say it usually takes crews about ten hours after a snow storm to clean up the whole town and today it took about two hours longer.

The storm caused quite a few big drifts and the whiteout conditions made it unsafe to get the plows out on the streets right away. Crews worked throughout the afternoon but expect the wind to still be a problem.
