Many Canadians say it's all about the good prices. Nearly 475 people responded to the Canadian Visitor Survey. 77 percent said shopping was the reason for their visit and 19 percent said a getaway or vacation. 31 percent of those surveyed said they spent between $250 and $500 while they are in town, which has increased over the past year. One big reason for this is a North Dakota sales tax refund Canadians can apply for.

The survey helps the Bureau determine where and how to advertise in Canada to inevitably bring even more visitors to the area.
