Heitkamp, Local Leaders Discuss Violence Against Women Initiatives
North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp met with local leaders today to discuss the importance of programs funded by the Violence Against Women Act. Law enforcement and educators showcased improvements the city and county have made.

North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp met with local leaders today to discuss the importance of programs funded by the Violence Against Women Act. Law enforcement and educators showcased improvements the city and county have made.
Although Senator Heitkamp is extremely impressed with the bar Grand Forks is setting, it's funding that local leaders are asking for. If the act isn't reauthorized in September, it'll leave major holes in some programs and force others to be completely cut.
