The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency wants a schedule of design and construction for a new waste water facility in East Grand Forks within the next month.

The MPCA didn't indicate that the city had to choose a project, just that it's "committed" to upgrading the treatment facility. The city asked for an extension from its February deadline to get new councilmen up to date with project options. Reconstructing the current lagoons or interconnecting with Grand Forks ranges between $11 and $15 million.
