After nearly a year of debate East Grand Forks city leaders still can't decide a future for the city's only pool. Councilmen may rely on the people's vote to make a decision.

After nearly a year of debate East Grand Forks city leaders still can't decide a future for the city's only pool. Councilmen may rely on the people's vote to make a decision.

Current project costs range from $1.5 to $6 million. There's no question about it, city leaders want to keep a pool on the east side, but it's the kind of upgrade the council can't decide on, for a pool that's not even used a quarter of the year. The council is debating on two options, either just fixing the current pool at an estimated cost of $1.5 million or a new pool for $4 million. The council didn't move to bring this to a vote just yet, they'll discuss it more in another two weeks, but even if they move it to a vote there's a minimum of 90 days until the election can be held.
