Grand Forks Mayor Michael Brown unveiled his "Big Plan" Wednesday as part of his State of the City address. Brown used 'BIG' as an acronym for Build, Invest, and Grow, the next steps to guiding Grand Forks into the future.

Mayor Brown honed in specifically on a few key points -- housing needs, asset management, and developing Grand Forks as the Silicon Valley of UAS. Brown says the Blue Ribbon Housing Commission's suggestions are being worked in to the community each day. Besides building homes, Brown wants to see Grand Forks grow new leaders, especially through UND.

Brown, "We must build both with bricks and mortar and with leaders to continue to develop partnerships to solidify those common goals we share and encourage engagement throughout the community."

One major asset Brown says the city has to consider is a new regional water treatment plant -- expected to cost $130 million.
