UND Exceeds Spirit Campaign Goal

After seven years, The North Dakota Spirit Campaign has exceeded it's goal of raising $300 million. That money has helped with plenty of projects and buildings around UND and will continue to do so.

The foundation announced that the campaign has already exceeded its $300 million goal, a goal they didn't expect to reach until the end of 2013, but two recent large gifts have helped push it over the goal.

The money is used in four key areas - faculty, programs, capitol projects or renovations and scholarships. $76 million alone has gone towards student scholarship programs. Campus officials say a big part of that has to do with the division one transition with impact scholarships for athletics to make sure they can compete at the Big Sky level. The petroleum engineering program came about because of this campaign and officials are looking at adding a building. The Campaign ends December 31st, so there is still time to donate.
