FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The interim president of North Dakota State
University has applied for the position permanently.
Richard Hanson says his enthusiasm for the Fargo school "is
beyond measure."
The 59-year-old Hanson was hired late last year to take over for
Joseph Chapman, who resigned in October after criticism of his
spending. Hanson came from Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa,
where he was president.
He is a native of Hillsboro, an NDSU alumnus, a former Bison
football star and a former associate vice president for academic
affairs at NDSU in the early 1990s.
