Tribe Gets Money for Water Tower

The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa has received a $1 million grant to complete funding for a $3.3 million water tower project.

BELCOURT, N.D. (AP) - The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa has

received a $1 million grant to complete funding for a $3.3 million

water tower project.

The money for the 1 million gallon water reservoir is through

the U.S. Agriculture Department's Rural Development agency.

The Bureau of Reclamation is contributing $1.3 million and the

Indian Health Service $1 million to the project, which also

includes two miles of water main.

Construction is expected to start in May and wrap up in a year.
