Last year one alcohol-related crash occurred every eight and a half hours. The Northeast Regional DUI Task Force is working with the Department of Transportation to get the number of drunk drivers down to zero.

BJ Maxon, Grand Forks Sheriff's Department: "The DUI numbers are down a little but not a lot, not as much as we'd like to see, but they are going down with our enforcement and with the new legislation obviously that's coming we're hoping that will help us as well."

Extra enforcement runs over two weekends and officials expect more traffic with St. Patrick's Day and the Jason Aldean Concert.
