Violent Crash in ND Kills 2 teens, Injures Third

Two Watford City teenagers died when the sport utility vehicle they were riding in spun out of control on an icy highway in northwestern North Dakota, collided with an oncoming semitrailer and split in half.

WATFORD CITY, N.D. — Two Watford City teenagers died when the sport utility vehicle they were riding in spun out of control on an icy highway in northwestern North Dakota, collided with an oncoming semitrailer and split in half.

The Highway Patrol says 17-year-old Hank Allen and 18-year-old Austin McCaulley died at the scene Tuesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 85 west of Watford City in McKenzie County.

The driver of the SUV, 17-year-old Fenton Matthew, of Watford City, was flown to a Minot hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver of the semi was not hurt.
