Police have been searching all night for two suspects wanted in connection with a shooting Wednesday afternoon near the Moorhead State campus. One man was hospitalized this afternoon with at least two gunshot wounds.

Through social media and after talking with neighbors we learned the victim is MSUM student Anthony Sands. MSUM has sent out a warning to students.

Karl Keene lives right across the parking lot from 1107 17th Street South, Where he was shocked to see several Moorhead police cars parked, never expecting what came next. Keene: "I wasn't sure if I wanted to check it out and I walked over and asked a few questions"

What he later found out was that a shooting happened just before four Wednesday afternoon. Lt. Tory Jacobson, Moorhead police: "We do have a victim. Two male suspects fled...the fact that there were two armed, very unsettling, who knows what's on their minds."

When police arrived, they questioned several others on scene, some who were taken away in squad cars. As for Keene, he says he thought his neighborhood was safe, but now he's not so certain. Keene: "It's unexpected over there, nothing going on."

And he hopes everyone keeps their eyes opened for the suspects at large and watches out for their own safety. Keene: "Police say be more alert, we sure will be."

Police say they're looking for two black men who fled in a black or blue Dodge Intrepid. MSUM's warning said one man was wearing a blue puffy coat and carrying a silver handgun, the other suspect was wearing dark clothing and had a long gun.
