Wahpeton, Fargo and Pembina, N.D., have a greater-than-50-percent chance of major flooding this spring, according to the latest spring flooding forecast released this morning by the National Weather Service.

Grand Forks, Minto, Drayton and Neche, N.D., and Oslo, Minn., are facing a better than 50-percent chance of moderate flooding, according to the report.

The latest flood forecast takes into account moisture from Winter Storm Eric, which dropped as much as 18 inches of snow on parts of the northern Red River Valley earlier this week.

Minor flooding is predicted on the Red River at Hickson, N.D., and Halstad, Minn., and on tributaries at Sabin, Hawley, Dilworth, Hendrum, Crookston and Hallock in Minnesota and at Harwood, Mapleton, Grafton and Walhalla in North Dakota.
