Extra police spent the day at Freedom Elementary School in West Fargo. Three police officers patrolled around the school and one officer was in the building at all times as a precaution.
This after the school was put on lockdown yesterday afternoon after receiving three threatening phone calls. The school's counselor is sending out some tips for parents to help kids cope with a scary situation in the next newsletter.
Dr. Jeff Johnson, Freedom Principal: "And then to also explain to the kids why the police are there. That's the main key, so they understand, so they aren't scared or nervous. They're here to help us, they're here to check on things, they're here to just walk around."
