Amendment Challenges Benefits for Locked-Out Workers
Locked out employees would not get unemployment benefits under an amendment added this week to a North Dakota Job Service bill. The change was offered by a five to two vote.
Locked out employees would not get unemployment benefits under an amendment added this week to a North Dakota Job Service bill. The change was offered by a five to two vote.
It would add language denying benefits because of a labor dispute -- strike or lock-out. If approved, it would not affect American Crystal Sugar workers but would make it more clear that the Legislature does not intend that locked-out workers deserve unemployment checks.
