A Lake Region man faces a slew of charges after leading police on two chases in one day.
35-Year Old Cory Young Bear was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to report into custody for his work release program. Police tried to pull him over after a reported gas drive-off early Monday afternoon.
Young Bear then led police on a chase through residential neighborhoods, with speeds reaching 70 miles an hour. Officers broke off pursuit due to safety concerns. Young Bear was finally apprehended three hours later after being spotted near Ed's Bait Shop, but not without another chase.
Keith Schroeder, Devils Lake Police Chief: "We have a few chase incidents out here, but the strange thing here was that this was the same car twice in one day."
Young Bear faces a slew of new charges after the chase including fleeing, driving with a suspended license and while intoxicated, and theft.
