Warrant Issued in Williston Shooting Death

A warrant has been issued for a man wanted in connection with a weekend fatal shooting near a Williston strip club. Suspect Jonathan Peter Horvath, 46, of Sandpoint, Idaho, is believed to no longer be in the western North Dakota area, Williston police said.

WILLISTON, N.D. – A warrant has been issued for a man wanted in connection with a weekend fatal shooting near a Williston strip club.

Suspect Jonathan Peter Horvath, 46, of Sandpoint, Idaho, is believed to no longer be in the western North Dakota area, Williston police said.

The man, who recently moved to Williston, has a noticeable tattoo of a spider and web on the left side of his neck. The photo police have is about eight years old.

Derrick Spiegel, 28, Williston, died early Saturday after being shot after a verbal altercation in front of Heartbreakers strip club, police said.

The shooting occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Spiegel died shortly afterward at Mercy Medical Center.

Detective Cory Collings said police are releasing few details about the incident because they don’t want to compromise the investigation.
