Auction Opens for "Home of the Fighting Sioux" Lettering
UND fans wanting to get their hands on some Fighting Sioux memorabilia can start online bidding today for a set of huge "Home of the Fighting Sioux" letters.
UND fans wanting to get their hands on some Fighting Sioux memorabilia can start online bidding today for a set of huge "Home of the Fighting Sioux" letters.
With the retirement of the nickname the letters were taken from the exterior of the Ralph Engelstad Arena this fall. Each letter is two feet tall. The entire phrase "Home of the Fighting Sioux" measured about 70 feet in length when it was on the building. The auction began Monday morning and will run until 5 pm Friday evening. Bidders can inspect the letters in the arena's administrative office during normal business hours. If you'd like to bid you can do so by visiting http://www.theralph.com.
