Mandan Man Pleads Not Guilty to Manslaughter

Twenty-three-year-old Colten Towry is charged with Class B felony manslaughter in the death of Derek Oshkeshequoam.

MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — A Mandan man has pleaded not guilty in the October death of a 30-year-old Bismarck man.

Twenty-three-year-old Colten Towry is charged with Class B felony manslaughter in the death of Derek Oshkeshequoam.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that Towry allegedly struck the blow that led to the death of Oshkeshequoam.

Authorities say Oshkeshequoam was hit during a party at a Mandan home that lasted into the early morning hours of Oct. 27. Those authorities say Oshkeshequoam had head injuries and was unable to speak, and later died from the injuries.

Two other men took Oshkeshequoam to a hospital on Oct. 28.
