A woman and her two children were found dead at a home in Zimmerman, Minnesota on Easter morning. At this time, police aren't releasing the cause of death. The BCI and the county criminal investigation division continue to investigate the scene.

Gary Clough, Zimmerman City Council Member: "It took everybody in the neighborhood as quite a surprise that this happened here. We're not used to this type of thing happening here. It's sad."

Sheriff's records show there haven't been any calls for help from law enforcement at the Shields' address in the past. Investigations are not looking for any suspects in the mysterious deaths, leaving neighbors scared and confused.

Tiffany Schmeichel: "I'm frustrated because they're not telling us what happened. Was it a gas leak? Was it something, do

we have to be on high alert? It makes us nervous because nothing like this happens out here."

The Sheriff says the homeowner, Stephanie's husband, father of their children and National Guard member Mark Shields, moved out of this home some time in the last week.

The Guard has issued a statement responding to the deaths, saying that Shields served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from September 2004 to November 2005 and that "our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time."

Zimmerman is a city of about 5,000 people and is roughly 40 miles northwest of Minneapolis. According to the sheriff's office, additional details will be released as they become available.
