The East Grand Forks police building is in need of repairs, including the removal of mold.
Estimates to make the necessary repairs, including the roof, are at 400,000 dollars. The city council will take up the issue Tuesday night, and is expected to approve money for the project. Lieutenant Rod Hajicek say the aging building has a history of a leaky roof which is likely the cause of the mold issues.
Hajicek: "Definitely sprung a leak and had some water come through the walls, since that time we have noticed some mold in the building, had a company come in and do some samples and they did detect a mold inside the walls."
Hajicek says the mold issues have not caused any noticeable health issues.
