The Lake Region Heritage Center is focusing on reviving lost history of early settlers this month. A photo collection of Native American life from Layton Huffman, a photographer living in Montana and North Dakota in the late 1800s, is on display throughout the month of April.

The museum is also hosting a discussion commemorating the 150th anniversary of the US Dakota war that stretched throughout the region. Native American historians and NDSU history professors will discuss the war, and how time has robbed historians of many of the details of the conflict. Experts will discuss the war Saturday night at 7 pm, as well as taking questions from any history buffs who want to attend.
