The North Dakota Senate has decided to not accept the House's version of the animal cruelty bill. The bill makes the most severe crimes against animals felonies.

Senator Tim Flakoll says their concern with the bill isn't over the penalties. He and others would like to tweak language in the bill as it relates to seizures, unwanted animals and protecting the livestock industry. The animal cruelty bill will now head to conference committee.
