MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - An Independent candidate for governor says

he's quitting the race.

Lt. Col. Joe Repya says he's unhappy with his party because it

decided to "essentially nullify the state convention endorsement

process."

The former Republican says the Independence Party reversed

delegate data procedures it put in place earlier this month for the

benefit of one candidate.

The Star Tribune reports four Independence Party candidates

remain in the race for governor, along with nearly two dozen

Republican and Democratic candidates.
