Convicted N.D. felon arrested on drug, weapons charges

A convicted felon from North Dakota has been arrested on drug and weapons charges.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A convicted felon from North Dakota has been arrested on drug and weapons charges.

Harvey Trautman is charged in federal court with three counts, including possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. He has pleaded not guilty.

Authorities say Trautman was in possession of methamphetamine and a pistol when he was arrested in December.

Trautman is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He has previous convictions for motor vehicle theft, distribution of a controlled substance and escape.

A detention hearing in the case is scheduled Monday in Bismarck. Prosecutors say Trautman is a flight risk and should be jailed until the case is resolved.
