Grand Forks Council Looks to Change Alerus Commission MakeupThe council is planning on changing the ordinance about who's on the Alerus Center Commission.
Who should make the decisions about the city-owned Alerus Center?
That's what the Grand Forks city council talked about tonight.
The council is planning on changing the ordinance about who's on the Alerus Center Commission.
They're planning on having six at-large members on the commission and one council member.
They're also doing away with the criteria that one person has to be from the University of North Dakota and one from the hotel, restaurant, and sale liquor industry.
They're also planning on changing term limits.
Three year terms, two year term limits. We should probably move forward on that because I think we want to get that done so they can appoint people to the commission.
The council is still looking for someone to fill the open position on the commission.
If you're interested.call the mayor's office before 5 on Friday.
The council plans to appoint someone next week.
