Soon callers won't have to deal with dialing that pesky area code to make any phone call within the Lake Region. The North Dakota Telephone Company is expanding the local calling area for Lake Region phones.

The change takes place on April 23rd. All phone calls within the company's district will be considered local. That means callers will not have to dial the area code before making calls and long-distance charges will be eliminated. The change does mean any automatic dialers will need to be changed to remove the area code for them to still work.
