WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Amy Klobuchar says two Minnesota women
who were briefly detained in Haiti had "all the right paperwork"
when they were prevented from bringing six orphans to the United
States.
Klobuchar said Monday night that adoptive mother Sarah Thacker
of Fergus Falls and volunteer Stephanie Anderson have been able to
visit with the children since being stopped from leaving Haiti on
Saturday.
The senator says there was a misunderstanding at the
Port-au-Prince airport over some of the adoption paperwork.
She said two of the children, including Thacker's, were coming
to Minnesota. She says the other four had been adopted by families
elsewhere.
