University of Minnesota Crookston students are trying to raise funds to restore the historic Carnegie Library in downtown Crookston.

All proceeds benefit the Carnegie Library Restoration Project Fund sponsored by the Polk County Historical Society. Students and staff were there last weekend helping to clean the place up for the race tomorrow.

Samantha Zuck-Roscoe, Event Organizer: "I think it's a great thing just helping out the community, giving something back to a place where we're living for four years."

The library will be turned into an arts and cultural center once renovations are complete.
