North Dakota State High School Tournaments to be Televised on WDAZ-TV

For the next five years, North Dakota's state high school tournaments will be televised on WDAZ-TV and all North Dakota ABC stations.
On Tuesday, the North Dakota High School Activities Association approved, by an 11-0 vote, a five-year, $680,000 dollar contract with Forum Communications, owner of WDAZ and WDAY.
The deal includes hockey, football, and basketball tournaments and takes effect this fall.
For the first time, the tournaments will be telecast in high definition.
North Dakota's ABC stations last televised the high school football championships in the 1990s. WDAZ and WDAY have not aired the state hockey or basketball tournaments since 1984.
