After 154 days, the temperature in Grand Forks finally reached 50 degrees. As a matter of fact, last time it was 50 was on November 23rd.
Many people out today enjoying the weather and while the temperatures were in the 50s most of the day, people acted like it was July.
The last time it took this long to get to 50 this late in the year was April 21st in 1914. Most of the day the temperature was in the 50s. Temperatures that might put the scare into some people as shown on a Jimmy Kimmel live bit during a recent cold spell in California.
Matt Trujillo: "Ah yeah I was pretty embarrassed by that Jimmy Kimmel thing."
Trujillo is a UND Student from California, he says he has learned a new appreciation for 50 degrees temps.
Tujillo: "Its 50 degree now, Id say it feels like it 80, it's really hot right now."
Tyler Sundberg: "Finally nice to get you shirt off and get some rays, hang out. "
And this weather arrived just in time for the weekend for people to dig into overdue yard work. But whatever people are doing outside, they are likely not complaining about it.
Sundberg: "Better weather make for better attitudes and stuff around here."
And still a lot of people on the greenway taking in the temps... And looking at the rising Red River. To date this is the coldest april on record.
