LISBON, N.D. (AP) - The southeastern North Dakota town of Lisbon

is gearing up for spring flooding.

Mayor Ross Cole says the city will start sandbagging next month,

asking residents and high school students to help. About 2,300

people live in the community.

Forecasters say the Sheyenne River has a 50 percent chance of

hitting 20 feet at Lisbon. Major flood stage there is 18 feet. Last

spring, the river at Lisbon rose to nearly 23 feet.
