Students from Devils Lake high school spent the day filling up an entire school bus with food for the needy. The high school student council traveled to all Devils Lake public schools collecting food for the bus. They filled the bus's storage space to the brim, and ended up sharing their seats with donated items.

The students also stopped at Leevers Foods to collect even more food from the public. Students say this is the largest charity drive they've ever put together.

Hannah Steffen/Beth MacDonald, Devils Lake High School Student Council: "This is our first year and if we can fully fill the bus that would be awesome. And if we can keep the tradition going year after year maybe next year try to go for two buses."

The donated food will be split between food pantries in Devils Lake and on the Spirit Lake Nation.
