East Grand Fork began to dismantle the invisible flood wall today. Emergency Manager Gary Larson says the latest crest prediction by the National Weather Service is at around 41 feet, and the city has plenty of flood protection without the wall.

Crews spent a couple days putting just two thirds of the wall up last week in front the boardwalk area. Larson says better safe than sorry.

Larson: "It takes a little time but weather service was scrambling with their predictions and that is all we have to go by I guess. It's part of living by the river."

Larson says at the lower crest prediction of the Red River the Point and Demers bridge will not have to be closed.
