The residents of small town Buxton, North Dakota is looking to make a big impact on the community. Residents have created a non-profit organization -- it's main goal -- improve the town.

The organization is called the Buxton Improvement group and it has its sights set on fixing up the town's abandoned City Hall. The first event kicked off today with a cookout -- the purpose was to throw around ideas for fund raising. Residents hope that they can turn the old city hall into more of a community center.

Benjamin Hershey, Buxton Improvement Group President: "We're a new group here in buxton -- we're here to improve the community environment here -- to ultimately have fun and bring the community together."

Hershey says once the old city hall is rebuilt he hopes to use it for movie nights and roller skating.
