North Dakota's first lady spent her morning in Fort Totten teaching school kids the importance of summer reading.

Betsy Dalrymple read to elementary students today at Four Winds Public School. She was there representing the Scholastic Summer Challenge reading program. She came with plenty of free books for students to take and enjoy. She says it's vital for students to keep reading even if they're not in class.

Betsy: "The important thing is to keep reading. Whatever kind of books you like. Borrow them from your friends. Read by yourself. Read with your dog or your cat."

Dalrymple also met with teachers at Four Winds to discuss how to incorporate more native american culture into reading programs.
