The local John Deere dealership True North Equipment broke ground today for its new agricultural resource center in Grand Forks. The planned two-story 7,000 square foot office building is located three blocks south of the Alerus Center on 42nd Street. It will house the company's corporate offices and several interactive training rooms open to area farmers. True North officials say the facility will give farmers a place to go to find the answers they need to help boost their bottom line.

John Oncken: "We looked at the different communities, and Grand Forks from the perspective of the land and the value , and also drawing talent to our company."

True North Equipment has the distinction of being in the top ten percent of John Deere dealers worldwide with just over 125 employees at its four locations in Grafton, Grand Forks, Kennedy and Northwood.
