USA Womens Hockey Plays For Gold

The US Womens Hockey team played arch-rival Canada for the gold tonight and plenty of people locally were following the action.

Tonight was a big night for hockey fans all over the region. The US Womens Hockey team played arch-rival Canada for the gold tonight and plenty of people locally were following the action.

Tonight was a huge night for the United States as team USA played for the gold. The entire Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant was filled with fans cheering on team USA and hoping for them to bring home that gold metal.

People are glued to the screen as USA hockey fans watch their home team play in one of the most important games of the winter Olympics. Team USA and Canada are playing for the gold.

Michael Yem/Cheering for USA: I would love to beat them in their own country, cause it would be fun.

Kody Rother/Cheering for USA: Its pretty tough because they have the home field advantage and the roar of the crowed behind them.

With an early lead in the first period for the Canadians, local fans are not ready to give up.

Michael Yem/Cheering for USA: I hope they have a late come back, you know, just keep us in it, were losing 2-0 right know but what can you do, if they keep up the work and come back to it.

Kody Rother/Cheering for USA: Their holding up they are doing the best they can with the attack on our goalie so they are holding strong.

Yem and Rother are cheering on their favorite players Jocelyn and Monique Lamoureux of Grand Forks. They can't wait to have them play for their Sioux team.

Michael Yem/Cheering for USA: I think its going to be great that the Lamoureux girls are going to come play for us, its a great thing for our school for one and just for our area to get noticed. I think its great to see some of your own play.

The Canadians did end up shutting out the U-S... Two to zero.
