The long-running Studio One news program produced by the University of North Dakota will undergo a format change. Next season the show, which airs live on Thursdays, will be cut from one hour to a half hour.

It's the result of a transition at UND that combines the marketing, public relations and the Television Center. All will be under the Public Affairs Division. Officials says cutting the program's air time will free up students and staff for other projects.

Peter Johnson, University Relations: "What is going on is that we are streamlining the television and video components. There have not been any budget cuts. There have been some programing change."

Studio One has been on the air for the past 25 years.
