$1.5 billion fertilizer plant to be built near Grand Forks

A $1.5 billion fertilizer manufacturing plant will be built near Grand Forks

A formal announcement will be made Thursday by the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation and North Dakota Corn Growers Association, according to Tom Lilja, corn growers’ president.

The plant will produce anhydrous ammonia fertilizer by converting natural gas captured from oil wells in western North Dakota.

Lilja said other details will be released during the Thursday news conference.
