Pennington County Sheriff's Office has confirmed a plane crash this afternoon. A witness tells WDAZ that the plane crashed about ten miles west of Thief River Falls near the intersection of Pennington County Road 8 and the Pembina Trail.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash. A spokesperson tells WDAZ that the call came in around 11 o'clock this morning that the Cessna 172 went down. You can see in the picture that it looks as though the nose of the plane and landing gear are damaged. The FAA tells us just one person was in the plane at the time of the crash, however other reports suggest the pilot's daughter was also aboard. No injuries were reported.
