2006 was one of the biggest weekends ever in the NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament and it happened in Grand Forks in front of sell-out crowds. North Dakota Athletic Director Brian Faison wants that to be the norm.

Brian Faison, UND Athletic Director, "It's been a source of a lot of conversation over the course of the last few weeks coming out of this year's NCAA Tournament and certainly there have been questions raised in the past about attendance at regional sites."

This year was a prime example. With a trip to the Frozen Four on the line, just 19-hundred saw UND and Yale battle it out at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Faison, "It's a game that has to have energy and unfortunately in some of these venues you just don't get that energy because there is no crowd so I think for the game, it's really important."

Faison will become one of six members on the NCAA Hockey Committee in September trying to bring it closer to home.

"Given the nature of the teams in the area, I think having this opportunity in Fargo would be something that a lot of the teams would enjoy."
