It's the bill's last step in the legislative process. The bill passed the Minnesota House last week. Minnesota is on the brink of becoming the 12th state to allow same-sex couples to marry. Governor Dayton could is expected to sign the bill as early as tomorrow. Earlier today the Senate defeated an amendment to the bill offered by Republicans. It would have beefed up protections for people with religious objections. The bill allows same-sex weddings beginning August 1st.
