Residents in the Riverside Park Neighborhood can expect to see some "for sale" signs up in the future. The Grand Forks finance committee met today and voted to put the lot on 1707 Lewis Blvd up for sale. Those interested are asked to submit proposals for developing single-family homes.

The neighborhood is one of Grand Forks' oldest residential areas and city leaders say new development must have similar architecture. The lot will be advertised with a minimum cost of 50,500 dollars, which is the City Assesor's estimate of current market value.

Meridith Richards, Community Development Manager: "We'll put ads in the Herald and post them on the city's website, since we do ask for a very comprehensive proposal package, I've allowed about six weeks for an advertising period."

Proposals that do not meet the minimum bid amount will not be considered.
