A Grand Forks Central High School student is dead after being injured in a motorcycle accident. The accident happened Wednesday afternoon, just blocks from the school.

Students gathered to create a memorial this afternoon on the corner of Sixth Street and Second Avenue North in downtown Grand Forks to honor their friend...16-year-old McCain Endres. He was taken to Altru Hospital around 3:45 pm yesterday afternoon after colliding with a sedan. The Grand Forks Police Department said at the time he suffered non-life threatening injuries. Grand Forks Central Principal Buck Kasowski says the entire school is struggling to cope with the tragedy, but he says students have been able to lean on each other for comfort during a tough day.

Kasowski: "I guess it doesn't matter what age you are. You want friends and family around, and we consider ourselves a family."

An autopsy was conducted this morning, but the results haven't been released yet.
