Two people were injured after a collision between a car and a horse on Sunday.
The accident happened about 5 a.m. on Highway 1 near Lawton. A vehicle driven by 29-year-old Jack Nesdahl of East Grand Forks struck the horse, which had escaped from its pen and was standing on the highway. Nesdahl and 16-year-old John Rodriguez of East Grand Forks were transported to a Park River hospital.
They have been treated and released. According to the Grand Forks Herald, the horse passed away.
